Cherie Stannard's Blog
On September 30, 2010, Cherie Ann Stannard became entrapped in her Jeep after it rolled and landed on its roof following a single-vehicle crash. There was another car involved that did not stop. A book has been published to help raise money for Cherie's care and the home improvements needed to care for her. Cherie has no health insurance. Cherie's sister and brother have quit their jobs and are staying at family housing at the Center in order to participate in the rehabilitation and receive training to care for her. Art With Heart for Cheri
This book was made to raise funds for a family in need. On September 30, Cherie Ann Stannard rolled her Jeep, suffering a C-4 complete spinal cord injury and paralysis. Her whole life changed in an instant.
Author Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson..."This book has been a group effort made possible from creativity around the country, each person having the desire to reach out and lend a hand to a stranger in need. The artists featured came together to help in raising funds for Cherie’s family. Her brother and sister have quit their jobs to receive specialized training on how to care for their now paralyzed sister. Thank you to every artist for their kindness and willingness to help in this project. Thank you to the purchasers of this book for your donation. 100% of the profits will be donated to Cherie’s family for living expenses, including modifying the home to accommodate a wheelchair and other adaptive devices. Random acts of kindness bring us together, keeping us strong in our faith of human nature."
